News Intro for Sunday 11-03-2012

UN-Arab League envoy to Syria Kofi Annan used an old African proverb to address Syrian President Bashar Assad saying “You can’t turn the wind, so turn the sail”.

Annan left without reaching an agreement with President Assad and revealed that the current situation in Syria is alarming and dangerous.

It was revealed that Russia had previously organized Annan’s visit to Syria, but with the failure of the Arab League initiative, UNSC resolution and Annan’s efforts it is unclear which direction the Syrian crisis will take.

Will the military solution prevail? Is Idlib the next target after Homs?

On the local scene, the $11 billion issue is still the hottest debate on the table, not to forget the dilapidated building issue after the collapse of the Tabarja building.

On the other hand Lebanese restaurants have been dealing with rotten meat for over a week now.

Regarding the crime in Tabarja sources revealed to LBCI that the concerned authorities are currently tracking down (J.K.) who lent the victims money and it is believed that he killed them when they failed to return the amount.
