Hamdan to LBCI: extra-budgetary issue towards legalization rather than settlement

Speaker Nabih Berri's media advisor, Ali Hamdan explained on Monday that no settlement was reached over the extra-budgetary issue, the issue is rather being legalized.

Hamdan confirmed to Nharkom Said TV show that the issue is moving toward a solution in line with law and constitution, adding that the Change and Reform bloc has largely contributed to the solution.

Hamdan added that Berri will not raise the 8.9 trillion LBP issue during the Wednesday legislative session, awaiting the preparation of the 16 billion issue by the cabinet.

Berri’s advisor announced that previous spending were in contravention of the law especially those during the mandate of former Premiers Fouad Siniora and Saad Hariri.
