Winds down electric lines in Akkar, killing mother and daughter
The winds that swept through Akkar led to major losses in greenhouses and damaged electrical cables resulting in a tragic incident in the town of Ash Shaykh Zinad where a mother and her child were electrocuted after a cable from the general network fell in front of their house, killing both.

40-year-old Sonia Ahmad Al Ali from the town of Ash Shaykh Zinad saw her 3-year-old daughter, Fatima Mehdi Ahmad, hanging on an electrical cable cut off by the storm. When she tried to save her baby, Sonia was also killed by electrical shock.
