Egypt says ready to hand back former Libyan regime officials
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it launched discussions with the Libyan authorities over a request to hand back members of slain dictator Muammar Qaddafi’s regime members likely to have sought refuge in Egypt.

The Libyan general prosecutor sent a list with the names of Libyans who were members of the former regime and who are currently in Egypt to his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Meguid Mahmoud.

The spokesperson for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Amr Roshdy said that Egyptian authorities are looking into Libya’s request to hand back members of the former regime to comply promptly with the Libyan request within the framework of cooperation agreements between the two countries.
