Baabda Palace of Justice set ablaze by a detainee’s cigarette butt
A cigarette butt unintentionally thrown by a detainee at Saida Palace of Justice accidentally started a fire in the basement, on Saturday. The fire raged when the cigarette butt landed on a sponge mattress.

The fire brigade rushed to the site and extinguished the fire in no time despite heavy smoke. No damages or casualties are yet reported. Senior magistrate Roula Jadayel and Prosecutor-General for Appeal Samih Hajj kicked off investigations.
