Ogero staff stage sit-in in Sidon

Employees of the state-owned telecommunications company Ogero staged a sit-in on Tuesday outside the company’s premises in Sidon in a show of solidarity with its head Abdel Menhem Youssef and Telecom Minister Boutros Harb, who have been the subject of “accusations that are far from being true.”

Demonstrators lifted banners expressing their full support to Youssef and rejecting the "false accusations."

Youssef testified last week before Financial Prosecutor Judge Ali Ibrahim over corruption complaints filed by the youth wing of the Progressive Socialist Party.

PSP youth wing accuses Youssef of corruption and running an isolated island instead of a state institution.
