Nassour reveals to LBCI why Febrectol and TROPHIRES were pulled from Lebanese market

The Pharmacists’ Syndicate Chief Ziad Nassour explained on Tuesday that the decision to recall certain drugs from the market, such as Febrectol and TROPHIRES, and to ban their trading, is based on a study conducted in France in November 2011 that has proven that these drugs contain derivatives of Terpenes and may cause neurological disorders (including seizures) in children under 30 months old or those diagnosed with epilepsy.

Nassour confirmed to Nharkom Said TV show that there are no counterfeit drugs in Lebanon, adding that he cannot guarantee dispensaries may not still have these drugs available to the public as they are not directly supervised by the syndicate.
