Cabinet convenes at Serail, with 73 items on agenda

The Cabinet meets in a regular session at the Grand Serail, chaired by Prime Minister Najib Mikati, with 73 items on its agenda. Opening up today's session, Premier Mikati asked the Cabinet to stand a minute of silence in mourning of the late Coptic Patriarch Shenouda III.

"His absence [Pope Shenouda's] is a great loss and his stances were permanently supportive of Arab causes in general and the Palestinian cause in particular," Mikati said.

Speaking to media reporters prior to Cabinet session, Public Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said that the issue of renting power-generating boats shall not be proposed during today's session.
