Future bloc: Whoever is deliberately sabotaging Lebanese-Arab relations must stop its practices
The Future bloc stressed on Tuesday the importance of the stance suggested by former Prime Minister Saad Hariri to launch a petition to show support for Saudi Arabia and solidarity with Arab unanimity.
Lebanon struggles to deter the economic repercussions of a Saudi decision to stop $4 billion in aids to buy weapons for the Lebanese Army and police.
The bloc also urged “whoever is deliberately sabotaging the Lebanese-Arab relations to stop its practices.”
MP Ammar Houry urged on behalf of the bloc after its weekly meeting the Saudi kingdom to reconsider its decision.
On another note, the bloc voiced hopes that a new president would be elected during the next parliamentary session set to take place on March 2.
Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of president Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014 without the election of a successor.
