Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq objected Wednesday to describing Hezbollah as terrorist organization in the closing statements of the 33rd Arab Interior Ministers Council conference held in Tunisia.
Al-Mashnouq said that a Lebanese minister standing before Arabs is not to be envied, noting that whoever assassinated late former PM Rafik Hariri was attempted to assassinate Lebanon’s Arabism.
The minister stressed that pointing the fingers at the Lebanese who have been sacrificing their men as martyrs is a form of injustice.
Al-Mashnouq also stressed that victory will be reached and “no one can change the identity of the Arabs.”
“Lebanon will not be a thorn in the side of Arabs,” he stated.
Prior to the opening of the conference, Lebanese Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq said Wednesday that “outside Lebanon, he cannot but defend all the Lebanese people.”
