MP el-Jisr hopes KSA, Arab countries would back down on recent stances
Future Movement MP Samir el-Jisr voiced hopes that Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries would back down on their recent stances, especially concerning the arms deal.
El-Jisr’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV Show whereby he said that the stances of Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouq during the Arab Interior Ministers Conference aimed at “not questioning the Arab identity of Lebanon.”
He also noted that the minister’s stance came in order “to preserve the rest of Lebanon’s state institutions.”
Yesterday, Machnouq rejected the labeling of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization in the closing statement of the 33rd Arab Interior Ministers Conference held in Tunisia.
The statement came hours after the Gulf Cooperation Council had blacklisted the party.
