Egyptian composer el-Sharnouby freed from kidnappers

Egyptian authorities released on Wednesday composer Salah el-Sharnouby and his friend director Omru Zahra, after security forces raided an apartment in the district of al-Kayloubiya, northern Cairo.

Salah el-Sharnouby was kidnapped on Monday while leaving his home in the 6th of October city.

Farouk, Salah el-Sharnouby’s brother, told LBCI that Salah is still held in the custody of security forces waiting for appropriate legal measures to be finalized. Farouk stressed that the family did not have to pay a ransom for the release of his brother.

Egyptian newspapers reported that preliminary investigations showed that a woman, who claimed to work as a singer, was involved in his abduction.
