Lebanon’s Supreme Council of the Roman Catholic regretted Saudi Arabia’s decision to halt its aids to the Lebanese army and security forces, at a time when the Lebanese army is facing several challenges, chief among which the fight against terrorist groups spread along the borders with Syria.
The council stressed the need for Lebanon to maintain good relations with the Arab and Gulf states, mainly the ones that has contributed to Lebanon’s unity and reconstruction.
In a statement, the council also the importance of respecting the Arab consensus, while taking into consideration Lebanon’s neutrality towards foreign conflicts.
On another note, the supreme council condemned the come parties’ attempts to marginalize the State Security apparatus, the latest among which the failure to invite the said apparatus to the security meeting held at the Grand Serail.
