REPORT: Health Minister Abou Faour says no need to panic over carcinogenic wheat
Minister of Health Wael Abou Faour said on Thursday that there is no need to panic over the carcinogenic wheat, he stressed however that necessary procedures must be taken to avert such imminent danger.

Abou Faour noted that every wheat shipment must be inspected upon its arrival to Lebanon.

Yesterday, Abou Faour announced that four out of seven samples of wheat tested by the ministry at Beirut Port do not meet health standards.

In a press conference, Abou Faour pointed out that wheat contains ochratoxin, a substance which causes cancer and Alzheimer.

He concluded by saying that wheat should not enter Lebanese territories without being tested.
