Geagea: Only the truth will prevail

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea addressed his supporters on Saturday during a ceremony marking 18 years of the disbanding the LF saying that it is the spring of the Lebanese forces in Lebanon regarding its ties with the Arab Spring and the international community.

Commenting on the establishment of a new internal order for the Lebanese forces Geagea said “We are marching towards freedom and democracy with a modern party; there will be many difficulties and obstacles waiting for us but these difficulties will not prevent us from reaching our goals”.

On the Arab Spring movements he said “dictatorships are the reasons behind the Arab Spring”, adding that a major Islamic population is moderate and calling for freedom and democracy and should not be feared.

On the Syrian issue Geagea ironically said “who really care about the fate of Christians in the Middle East, should not make them feel weak and hopeless; the Syrian Regime is portraying itself as the only guarantee to the minorities but no one can forget what they did to us during their occupation in Lebanon”.

The head of the LF Party added “those who think that the diplomatic solutions would give them more time in power are highly mistaken”.

“The solution for the Syrian would be by setting a popular referendum under the sponsorship of the Arab countries and the United Nations Security Council and let the Syrian people decide its own faith”.

Addressing the Free Patriotic Movement supporters Geagea said “You should all be aware; Change and reform attempts in Lebanon are affecting the quality of political work and abusing the public”.

“The only change they made was changing former Labor Minister Charbel Nahas who was the only minister to carry changing and reforming ideas”.
