It looks like the events in Syria has been taking a faster pace lately revealing a growing clash between the Syrian Regime and the opposition as well as a clash between the States discussing the Syrian file.

The Syrian regime announced today that the plot to topple Syrian government has clearly failed, while the Free Syrian Army vowed to stop its military action once Assad forces are withdrawn.

On the international level, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal renewed calls to arm the Syrian opposition on Saturday, describing it as a "duty ". U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, discussed with Saudi officials ways to pressure Assad to end the bloodshed while sending nonmilitary aids to the rebels.

All those events took place on the eve of the “Friends for Syria” conference that will be held on Sunday in Turkey.

What will this conference present to Syria more than the first “Friends for Syria” conference held on the 24th of February in Tunisia presented?

AFP quoted Middle Eastern experts saying that the international community is less excited about Syria, adding that Sunday conference’s outcomes are very limited.

On the internal scene, surprising statements discussed the electoral law without a prior notice as the files has been closed lately. LBCI learned that the offer allegedly proposed by General Electric to PM Najib Mikati was the focus of discussions during the recent cabinet session.      

Well-informed sources described the offer as “a scandal” given that the offer turned out to be plotted by an employee and nothing more than an e-mail.
