“Public opinion in Akkar” Campaign continued Saturday collecting signatures for the petition calling for Lebanese University branches in Akkar, under the title “The University is a right for Akkar citizens.”
The campaign has been touring towns, villages, neighborhoods, schools and municipalities in order collect the greatest number of signatures for the petition, which calls on the Lebanese government, the Lebanese University’s council and the Parliament to draft, pass and issue a decree pertaining to establishing a LU branch in Akkar.
The activists also noted that this project has become an easy reach, since the necessary funds have been passed and a piece of land has been allocated, pointing out that the only obstacle before the implementation is a decision to be issued by the university’s chairman.
