Dr. Riad Alam was banned from practicing his profession upon a decision issued by the Order of Physicians.
But this doctor who performed hundreds of abortions on the victims of Chez Maurice prostitution ring could resume his practices and here’s how.
The doctor has the right to appeal the decision before the Lebanese Judiciary, and during the appeal period, he has the right to practice his profession.
The period allowing appeals to be presented extends over 15 days, and since the decision had been issued, the judiciary has not made a move.
It is worth noting that the judiciary’s decision is separate from that of the Order of Physicians, and should the judiciary acquit the doctor, the latter’s decision overrides that of the order.
