Cabinet approves high-voltage cables in Mansourieh

The cabinet approved on Tuesday a draft law to install high-voltage cables in Mansourieh, forming an executive committee headed by Samir Mokbel and composed of Ministers Marwan Charbel, Fayez Ghosn, Marwan Kheiraddine and Panos Manjian.

The cabinet convened at the Grand Serial in a regular session led by Prime Minister Najib Mikati to discuss an agenda of 62 items.

A demand by the ministry of social affairs to secure aid for Syrian refugees was not approved and the issue related to hospital fees was postponed until the next session.

The session saw a verbal bout between Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and Minister Nicolas Fattoush over the approval of donations for inmates without resorting to cabinet.

Mikati revealed during the session that the issue related to full-time professors will not be discussed today. “I will not stop on the comments made by those who already know that my government will face all files and issues and will work to ensure the continuity of transparent and democratic rule”.
