LF: Assassination attempt aims at altering domestic scene

The Lebanese Forces’ central council held an extraordinary meeting in Maarab headed by LF leader Samir Geagea, on Friday. The meeting discussed Wednesday’s attempt to assassinate Geagea as well as the investigations carried out by security and judicial authorities.

The council said that the attempt aimed at altering the domestic scene and eliminating the political powers that endorse sovereignty and independence.

The participants wondered if a relation exists between the assassination attempt and the bid to withhold telecommunications data from security apparatuses.
