Salam visits Hariri, urges Beirutis to carry out “their national duties”

Prime Minister Tammam Salam visited on Saturday the Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri at the Center House for talks.

Following the meeting, Salam called on Beirut to carry out their national duties and participate in the municipal polls.

Lebanese citizens registered in Beirut will vote for the municipal polls on May 8.

Salam also thanked Hariri’s efforts to elect a new president.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of President Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014 without the election of a successor.

Deep disputes between rival political parties have thwarted the polls.
