Municipal elections adjourned in Salima
Minister of Interior Nouhad Machnouq said on Wednesday that the municipal elections in the town of Salima-District of Baabda in Mount Lebanon were adjourned.
The Minister noted that such a decision was taken following letters sent by the Lebanese Forces party, the Progressive Socialist Party and the residents of Salima who requested to postpone the polls citing sectarian tensions, security incidents and disputes in the town as a reason behind such a step.
