Prime Minister Tammam Salam stressed Thursday that “the municipal elections represented a great accomplishment for the Interior Ministry.”
“The polls proved that the state and its institutions are able to manage the most difficult electoral challenges,” Salam said at the Arab Economic Forum.
The PM believes that “it is not impossible to agree on a modern electoral law and go for elections to renew the parliamentary council.”
He also expressed regret that the presidential vacuum gravely harms the Lebanese people.
For his part, Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh asserted that there are no obstacles to Lebanon’s banking sector in terms of its relations with foreigners.
