Head of Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea said Sunday that “in the mid of the political paralysis Lebanon and the region are encountering, it’s good to hold municipal elections.”
“It means the basic components holding the state together still exist”, he added
In a press conference, Geagea explained that the saying of the LF- Aoun coalition wanting to cancel out everyone else is not true, stating that true development occurs in an Intergovernmental sphere, as development and politics cannot be brought apart.
On the municipal elections in Deir al-Qamar, Geagea explained that the local situation led to Dory Chamoun not getting along with Geaorges Adwan, stressing that more than 99% of the matters bring the two parties together.
“If Chamoun’s electoral list wins I will be the first to congratulate him, but if he loses I wish he’d consider the winning list his,” he added.
