Election bribe detected in al-Mary

The Central Chamber of Operations at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities said on Sunday that it apprehended and referred to investigation two candidates from the same list in the town of Bourgholiya on charges of bribery.

Interrogations are ongoing with the two men under the supervision of the concerned authorities.

Earlier, security forces detected an election bribe in the town of al-Mary when one of the candidate identified only by his initials as F. Y. was trying to buy the vote of A. Sh. during Sunday's municipal polls.

The security forces opened an investigation in the incident.
