EU allocates €45 million to Lebanon’s Social Affairs Ministry to support vulnerable families

The European Union has announced €45 million in direct funding to Lebanon’s Ministry of Social Affairs to support the country’s most vulnerable families, in what was described as a renewed sign of confidence in national institutions.

EU Ambassador to Lebanon Sandra De Waele said the funds will be channeled through the ministry, marking the first time in several years that EU assistance is being directed in this manner.

De Waele said the move reflects support for Lebanon’s institutional role in managing recovery efforts.
