The Internal Security Forces Directorate General declared in a statement issued on Wednesday that “following the suicide bombings that targeted the Bekaa town of al-Qaa, reports are being shared on social media platforms and through audio notes transmitted by unknown sources, stating that terrorist attacks will target specific locations across the Lebanese regions and claiming that this information comes from senior security sources, raising fear and concern among the Lebanese citizens.”
Consequently, the ISF Directorate General called on the citizens not to be dragged by such reports, and to only take into consideration statements issued by the official security apparatuses and military institutions, which remain on high alert in order to defend the country.
The statement added that the security apparatuses often receive several reports related to possible terrorist attacks, “these reports are in turn investigated and analyzed, but such information are mostly found inaccurate, or in case true, the security forces manage to thwart the attacks.”
