GLC, Transportation Unions going forward with their strikes
The GLC announced on Tuesday that it will stage a general and comprehensive strike on May 3.

Transportation Syndicates and Unions in Lebanon confirmed that they will go forward with Thursday’s strike from the early hours of the morning until 3 p.m. across Lebanon.

Following the meeting held in the GLC’s headquarters, the unions said that a strike is a democratic means to urge the government to fulfill its promises, implement agreements, laws and decisions and live up to its responsibility.

Transportation Syndicates announced that they will continue taking appropriate measures until their demands are met. The syndicates’ demands are the following: committing to a ceiling for diesel oil and gasoline prices, issuing decrees and decisions to implement the national transportation plan and adjusting social security to adjust benefits for the families of drivers.
