Sleiman: No stability without internal social justice
President Michel Sleiman voiced hope on Tuesday that the current changes sweeping the Arab states would lead to a peaceful transition that meets the aspirations of the region’s people in terms of democracy.

Sleiman stressed that “no real stability or peace in the Middle East without internal social justice and a fair and extensive solution to all the aspects of Arab-Israeli conflicts on the basis of legitimate international resolutions, the Madrid conference and the Arab peace initiative.”

During his meeting with Australia's Governor General Quentin Bryce, Sleiman confirmed that a Lebanon that adopts the policy of dialogue and moderation and carries the message of coexistence and freedom will remain loyal to its message and adhere to the UN Charter and goals. Lebanon receives from Australia a continued support for its sovereignty, independence, the union of its territory and rightful and fair demands, he added.
