Taxi drivers and transport workers Unions reject new airport measures

Federation of taxi drivers and transport workers Unions in Lebanon declared in a statement on Monday their rejection to the decision issued lately by Beirut International Airport, calling on the authorities to retract it.

Due to new measures adopted at Beirut airport, a memo was issued by the Ministry of Public Affairs prohibiting taxis, other than the service cabs authorized by the airport, from reaching the entrances of the facilities.

Accordingly, the unions added that they requested a meeting with the ministers of interior and public transportation, but have not yet received a reply.
