The following are summaries of today's major stories published in the Arabic press. LBCI does not edit press digest articles for content, giving English-language readers insight into the various views expressed in newspapers across the Arab world.

Al-Mustaqbal newspaper issued parts of the Internal Security Forces’ investigation with General Fayez Karam saying that the Israeli Mossad saw in Karam a bright future for the Free Patriotic Movement. According to the newspaper General Karam chose to enter the Lebanese political scene through the Israeli gate after he met several times with Mossad Agents in Paris who provided him with advanced communication methods.

“I used the communication lines I got from the Mossad to contact people inside Israel”, Karam revealed during the investigation.

Asked about his spying activities Karam said that the Israelis asked him detailed questioned about his relationship with Hezbollah officials and other questions such as the location of Al-Manar TV building as he replied that his driver used to take him there and that he is not familiar with Dahiye streets.

Sources concerned with the investigation on Geagea‘s assassination plot told Al-Hayat newspaper that important evidences have been revealed, adding that the investigation is taking place far from media coverage to avoid any political tension.

The sources added that the shooters were able to see Geagea from a 120cm gap in his garden fence from 2 to 3 km.
