Fneish: It is ironic how some consider that they are instigators of Arab spring

State minister for administrative development Mohammad Fneish said Sunday that the parliamentary discussion session showed that the opposition is still under the shock of its loss of power. Fneish added that some parties in Lebanon do not take into account the developments and changes taking place around us, “they build their calculations, bets and illusions on a transformation that they imagine will serve their interests”.         

During a political meeting in the southern village of al-Qalila, Fneish said that with such an approach, the opposition is condemning itself since “it is steering clear from objectivity, from the goal behind its existence within a democratic regime, which is rectifying the state’s performance and offering an  alternative”.           

Fneish said that it is ironic how some consider that they are the instigators of the Arab spring, adding “it is as if Hosni Mubarak or Gaddafi were among our allies, although their relations with Mubarak before he was toppled were a few days old; still they issue documents and talk about their role in sparking the Arab uprising. ”
