Pope Francis met with Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Monday at the Vatican.
Zuckerberg with his wife Priscilla Chan shook hands with the pope before sitting down for talks.
The Vatican said in a statement after the meeting, the discussions had centered around how to use communications technology to alleviate poverty.
