Hamas: Egyptian decision to stop shipping gas to Israel is courageous

Hamas described the Egyptian decision to terminate the contract to ship gas to Israel as very courageous. This step was taken because of violations of contractual obligations, a decision Israel said overshadows the peace agreement between the two neighbors.

“This is a step in the right direction, this is a courageous step, and it came in the right time, especially after the Arab spring and the Egyptian revolution, it will prompt the reconsideration of Egypt's position and its sovereignty, and even it will be better for its economy," said Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza.
