Primary Education Association adheres to strike
The administrative body of Primary Education Association reiterated on Tuesday its call for strike on Wednesday, April 25.   

The body added in a statement that the demands include securing the needed funds to pay the financial dues by virtue of law 223, approving the law related to the high cost of living while preserving the specificity of the education career, paying the financial dues to contract teachers, approving a plan to give contract teachers their tenure and to put a definite end to the “heresy” of contracting, decreasing the gasoline prices and finally calculating the transportation allowance on the basis of 2% of the minimum wage.

In turn, the committee of the LU contract professors suspended the open strike starting Thursday, paving the way for the cabinet to approve the tenure.
