A cabinet session kicked off on Thursday at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam.
The Cabinet agreed on releasing funds allocated to the army, General Security and internal security forces agencies.
Additionally, the council of Ministers agreed to pay 10 Billion dollars to the Higher Lebanese Commission in order to compensate Arsal’s cherry farmers for the last three years because they have not been able to harvest their lands due to the security situation.
Moreover, a decree was adopted stating to provide a fund from the budget’s reserve to a large number of the ministries to facilitate their work.
The Cabinet also commissioned foreign ministry to undergo a land survey of the villages locted on the northern border in Beqaa, including al-Tufail town.
Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi declared at the end of the meeting that the cabinet agreed to organize special sessions for the official exams.
Prior to the session, Minister of Culture Rony Arayji said that the session will tackle the mobile tenders and the appointment of a Mount Lebanon governor. For his part, Minister of Environment Mohammad Machnouq said that statements targeting Saudi Arabia could lead to more deadlock in the presidential elections, and that in reference to Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s latest comments about the Saudi kingdom.
