REPORT: Beirut’s Bar Association introduces e-voting

The lawyers are set to use the new advanced electronic voting technique to elect the president of the Beirut Bar Association on November 20, upon the initiative of the bar’s President Antonio al-Hashem and the member of the bar’s council.

The Bar Association is hoping to hold a decent election and to avoid the mishaps that happened during the presidential electoral session.

Draft laws on electronic voting have been already presented, but just as many other issues, they have been discarded on the shelf.
