During a speech, Nasrallah noted that Speaker Nabih Berri was decisive in controlling the presidential electoral session and refraining from postponing it after the events that took place, pointing out that he is “the national guarantee during the difficult circumstances.”
Hezbollah chief went on to praise Marada movement leader MP Sleiman Frangieh, deeming him an “honorable ally,” since he boycotted all the sessions, during which he was supposed to be elected president after he was nominated by the Future Movement.
He added that the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc did not nominate Hariri for premiership but did facilitate his designation to pave the way for a new era in Lebanon.
In this regard, Nasrallah stated that they will not be part of the new cabinet if Berri and the Amal Movement were not part of it, declaring that Berri will be in charge of the negotiation in terms of ministries and number of ministers.
“We do not negotiate in this matter, nor do we seek obstruction or delay in cabinet the formation process,” he said, calling for the formation of a national unity cabinet.
