Jumblatt: Regretfully, Aoun leads absurd movement; I will not return to March 14

MP Walid Jumblatt declared on Friday that he does not see any need for the resignation of the current cabinet, unless exceptional circumstances are shown. He stressed that President Michel Sleiman is the one who takes the final decision regarding administrative appointments, not General Michel Aoun. 

 In his statement to “Al-Mukhtar” website, Jumblatt said that an “absurd movement” led by Aoun is paralyzing everything and has, unfortunately, Hezbollah on his side. Jumblatt also accused Aoun of seeking to control the state’s main sectors including the judiciary, security, politics, administration and elections. 

As for his relations with March 14, Jumblatt pointed out that while political interests regarding proportionality could converge, he would not return to the ranks of March 14.  

Jumblatt also noted that those who stood against the Syrian Regime and supported the opposition should be dismissed from power, through proportionality and control of the state, the judiciary, security and the army.
