Activists stage sit-in outside ESCWA demanding activists release

The Bahraini Forum for Human Rights staged on Saturday a solidarity sit-in outside the ESCWA building at Riad al-Solh Square, demanding the release of human rights activists Nabeel Rajab and Abdul Hadi al-Khawaja and all prisoners of conscience in Bahraini prisons.

Abdulhadi al-Khawaja has been on hunger strike since last February 8.

The protesters sought to send a message to the U.N. that the Bahraini system is violating all charters and tightening the screws on the people’s freedoms.
