Safadi: Tripoli overcomes critical phase

Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi said on Tuesday that Tripoli has overcome the critical phase, adding that the deployment of the LAF and security forces was vital to control the situation.

“The delay in the deployment raised fear that a scheme was set up to target and involve the army in strife,” he told Voice of Lebanon.

Safadi pointed out serious efforts to settle the issue of Islamist detainees, adding that there is a tendency to swiftly release some of them.
