2 sit-ins held in Beirut on the anniversary of Nakba
A sit-in was held in Riyad al Solh Square on Tuesday marking the 64th anniversary of the “Nakba” or catastrophe that accompanied Israel’s foundation, upon the invitation of the Palestinian Association for Human Rights “Shahed”. The sit-in was held to condemn the international silence towards the Palestinian people’s recovery of their historical right to return to their land.

Later on Tuesday, another sit-in was held outside ESCWA upon the call of the Future bloc’s youth to express solidarity with the Palestinian detainees on the anniversary of the Nakba. Following the sit-in, a letter was given to the U.N. Secretary General’s special representative in Lebanon Derek Plumbly.
