As for the security situation of Ain le-Helweh refugees camp, Interior Minister Nouhad al-Machnouq noted that “all security apparatuses are playing their role in order to control the situation of the camp.”

Prior to the session, Defense Minister Yaacoub al-Sarraf asserted that the Lebanese army’s leadership does not stand any void, adding that Lebanese army Commander Major General Jean Kahwagi will remain in his position until the appointment of a new army commander.

As for the wage scale, Social Affairs Minister Pierre Bou Assi noted that the lack of quorum in the last session was “by pure coincidence.”

For his part, Industry Minister Hussein al-Hajj Hassan expressed his rejection to any tax hikes that may affect the poor.

Turning to the privatization of the country’s electricity, Education Minister Marwan Hamadeh said that he supports the suggestion of the Lebanese Forces party in terms of the electricity’s privatization.
