Israeli army: Majdal Zoun tunnel shows Hezbollah used civilian areas for military sites

The Israeli military claimed Sunday that Hezbollah has spent years building networks of tunnels, weapons depots, and command centers inside villages and civilian areas in Lebanon, “placing the population at the heart of its military project.”

In a post on X, a military spokesperson alleged a tunnel uncovered in Majdal Zoun once again shows, in Israel’s view, that Hezbollah has used civilian areas to establish military infrastructure among residents.

“The existence of a tunnel of this size in a civilian area reveals the extent of the danger Hezbollah has imposed on the residents of the south and on Lebanon as a whole for many years,” she said.
