When the waste crisis broke out in Lebanon, the municipality of Damour was standing before two options; either leaving the garbage piled up in the streets and between the houses, or finding a temporary site for the garbage to wait for the final solution.
The municipality decided to dump the waste produced by the two, and which do not exceed 10 tons per day, in the region of al-Atika near the Damour river.
