Extension of the parliament’s mandate: Proposed solution for the crisis
Sources told LBCI that the proposed solution for the current crisis that has been circulated would see President Michel Aoun declaring the suspension of the Parliament's sessions for one month as per article No. 59 of the Constitution. Thus, Thursday’s session would be postponed.

According to ministers, such a decision needs the signature of Prime Minister Saad Hariri and the concerned ministers, while other constitutional sources say that this power is strictly entitled to President Aoun.
