Information Minister Melhem al-Riachi declared Wednesday that Lebanon’s situation has improved after the election of Michel Aoun as president of the republic.
The minister stated that a new electoral law could be passed soon, adding that the Christian reconciliation paved the way for a national reconciliation.
During a meeting for the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), al-Riachi said that “the media sector is witnessing a real crisis,” hoping that a new dialogue standards will be set up between the peoples.
He noted that the agencies have to boost the concept of social cultures between the peoples, stressing the need to hold dialogue.
“The media must focus on abstaining from shedding light on terrorism since it leads to incite hatred, even if it was unintentional,” he pointed out.
