Charbel calls for announcing political state of emergency

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel called on Thursday for announcing a political state of emergency in the country.

Charbel held the Lebanese politicians responsible for incidents occurring in the streets, confirming that “what is required today is to tone down the heated political rhetoric” and to try to address the current issues through dialogue.

The interior minister told Voice of Lebanon that arms have been present among citizens for two years; however, the support that some parties are providing has facilitated their use, as he said.
