The attack on Elie Nehman on video

A video has gone viral on the internet depicting how the assault on the bike shop owner in Sid el Baouchrieh took place. Elie Nehman, who was killed Wednesday appears defenseless in the video alongside his brother Bernard and another employee whom were also wounded.

The video recorded via surveillance cameras shows 2 men dismounting a Grand Cherokee and entering the shop shortly after Bernad Nehman entered his brother’s shop. It wasn’t long till gun shots were fired by the assailants, who then fled the scene.               

The shooter who has been identified as an Egyptian national by the name of Al-Tantawi explained that the dispute had occurred over a bike. Al-Tantawi later turned himself in to the Internal Security Forces.           

Friends and relatives of the deceased had earlier decided to call off a protest that was to be held in Dekwaneh Thursday, on the grounds that the perpetrators have been brought to justice and to avert any security incident during the protest.               

The body of Elie Nehman will be moved from Mar Youssef hospital to Nehman’s birthplace in Al-Majdal.

Earlier in the day, the LAF heavily deployed in Dekwaneh to avert any possible riots.
