Speaker Nabih Berri reiterated his confirmation that “the pay scale is a rightful demand,” expressing doubt that the president would return the pay scale law to the parliament, “given the he has a constitutional right to sign or veto the law.”
On the debate over communications between Lebanon and Syria, Berri said during Wednesday’s deputies gathering that there are diplomatic ties and signed agreements between the two countries, noting that all the stages have proven that this communication and cooperation is a natural matter serving the interests of both states.
On another note, he emphasized the need that “the institution must assume their roles in following up on the citizens’ affairs and the development sector in all regions.”
